Deductions for Damaged or Poor Condition Items

Understand how the condition of your items impacts the deduction from the quoted value.

Disclaimer: The following deductions are subject to change and are intended to give you an idea of what the deductions might be. Every situation is different, and we may use discretion depending on the severity of the issues.

Games Missing Original Case

If your game is missing its original case or cover art (or they are heavily damaged), we will reduce the buy price by 20%. However, we accept games with generic or replacement cases as long as the original artwork is included.

This applies to the following systems:

  • Nintendo: DS, 3DS, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Switch
  • Sony: PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PSP, PS Vita
  • Microsoft: Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series X
  • Sega: Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast
Console Missing Cords

If your console is missing its original cords, we will apply a deduction as follows:

  • Missing video cord: $4
  • Missing power cord: $8

All cords must be OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

Handheld Missing Charger

If the charger for your handheld system is missing, we will deduct $5 from the quoted value.

Broken Items

If your item is broken, we apply deductions based on the type of damage. Below are the common issues and their corresponding deductions:

Consoles
  • Won't power on: 95% deduction of quoted value
  • Disc tray issues: 30% deduction of quoted value
  • Games won't read: 80% deduction of quoted value
  • Port issues (like HDMI or USB): 85% deduction of quoted value
Handheld Systems
  • Won't charge properly: 40% deduction of quoted value
  • Button (including trigger) issues: 25% deduction of quoted value
  • Damaged hinge: 70% deduction of quoted value
  • Top or bottom screen (LCD) issues: 70% deduction of quoted value
  • Touch screen problems: 30% deduction of quoted value
  • Sound issues: 30% deduction of quoted value
  • Won't power on: 95% deduction of quoted value
  • Game won’t read: 80% deduction of quoted value
  • Disc Games
    • Won't read: 99% deduction of quoted value
    • Cracked center ring: 30% deduction of quoted value (as long as the disc still works and crack doesn't expand to reading surface')
    Cartridge Games (Handheld and Console)
    • Won't read: 95% deduction of quoted value
    • Save battery issue: Subtract $8 from the quoted value. More if a battery replacement doesn't fix the issue'
    • Sprite glitch (in Pokémon games): 80% deduction of quoted value
    Accessories
    • Button issues: 50% deduction of quoted value (or 99% for PS2 buttons)
    • Thumb stick or other buttons with heavy cosmetic damage: 25% deduction of quoted value
    • Power issues: 95% deduction of quoted value
    Poor Condition

    If an item is in poor condition (or excessively dirty), we will deduct 35% from the quoted value. We may use discretion to further reduce the value for items in extremely rough condition.

    Fake Items

    If we determine that an item is a fake, we will set its quoted value to $0.

    Modded Items

    If an item has been modified (with unauthorized hardware or software changes), we will deduct 90% from the quoted value.

    Wrong Region

    If the item is from a region other than North America (NTSC), the quoted value will be set to $0.
